Mel Uribe is a senior at Citrus Valley High School and the Editor in Chief of La Plaza. She joined La Plaza to further embrace her Hispanic roots and culture. She saw La Plaza as a golden opportunity to encourage diversity within her community and school. Her favorite part about being in La Plaza is being able to share articles with her mom that she is able to read because it is in Spanish. In addition to La Plaza, Uribe is also the co-editor of the yearbook, secretary of Speech and Debate and treasurer of PossAbilities. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, painting and watching Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. She aspires to attend a four-year college and live a happy life.
